Homemade Beeswax Furniture Polish
- 4 ounces of walnut oil
- 1 tablespoon melted beeswax
- 1 teaspoon linseed oil
- 2 drops citrus essential oil
Directions: Mix the ingredients and apply a light layer using a dusting cloth.
Vinegar And Oil Furniture Polish
- 3 parts olive oil
- 1 part distilled white vinegar
Directions: Mix the ingredients and apply a light layer using a dusting cloth. This polish also cleans your furniture (because of the vinegar), so it should be used less often than the other polish recipes.
Wood Floor Wax
- 1 cup base oil
- ½ cup vodka
- 1.5 oz grated beeswax
- 2 oz carnauba wax (place in plastic bag and gently tap with hammer to pulverize)
- 20 drops of essential oil of lavender
Directions: Place the base oil and waxes in the top of a double boiler and place over the bottom portion of the double boiler to which water is already added and is at a simmer. Stir gently at a low heat until all waxes have been dissolved; remove from heat and blend vodka and essential oil in it. Pour into a heat resistant container; allow hardening, and using a rag to rub into wood.
Lavender Furniture Wax
- 2 oz grated beeswax
- 1 Tbs carnauba wax
- 1.5 cup mineral spirits
- 20 drops essential oil of lavender
Directions: Melt waxes in top of double boiler, let cool for 30 seconds, add mineral spirits and oil, stir well and place in container.
