Warm Welcomes

Whether they’re friends or family, long-term or short-term guests, we love to make guests feel at home! From a fresh bouquet of flowers, to fluffed and folded towels, to the smell of warm cookies in your home, did you know that you can also create a warm invitation for guests in the color scheme of your home! To take this warm palette of welcome to heart, here are a few easy tips to create a colorful yet subtle welcome home message for your guests.

One good welcoming color scheme we love is dark woods and royal colors. The combination of deep reds, golds, and browns creates a warm antiqued feeling! This is a great combination of colors for older homes with deep wood decor, and comes off very sophisticated! Your guests will appreciate your gorgeous decor, and it may even inspire them!

Another favorite of ours for weing our dear guests are cool and fresh colors! You can’t go wrong with crisp white and light blue. All though some may think it a little hotel-y, there’s absolutely nothing commercial about it. Everything about this color scheme makes the room seem a little cleaner, and the light colors also give rooms a larger effect!

Finally, don’t forget your guest bedroom! If you don’t have the space for a full sized bed, just go for a simple convertible futon with some nice sheets to match the room’s decor. Leave around extra pillows, blankets, towels, and toiletries to help it feel more like home (and a mint or two as well!).
