DIY: Snowglobe Ornament

December has arrived, and it’s time to start putting up trees and decorating the house! One of the parts we love the most about this festive season, is the decorating! It’s impossible not to have fun decking the halls, and spreading this holiday cheer throughout your home. If you have a crafty family up for some holiday fun, pull out the glue guns and keep reading our DIY guide to create these adorable snow globe ornaments under $5!

Materials:

  • Clear ornaments
  • Assorted fake flowers and leaves
  • Decorative container filler (red beads)
  • Ribbon
  • Fake snow (snow flurries)
  • Glitter glue (or normal glue)
  • Funnel
  • Hot glue gun
  • Paper plate
  • Scissors

Instructions:

  1. Remove the cap from a clear glass ornament and set it aside for now
  2. Use a funnel (or create one from rolling a paper) and start to pour the fake snow inside of the glass ornament (this can get very messy so be careful!)
  3. Dump some of the beads or filler on to a paper plate along with some of the fake snow
  4. Roll 4 beads in glue, and place 4 directly in the ornament
  5. Roll the sticky beads in filler snow to get a frosty effect
  6. Put the remaining 4 beads inside the ornament
  7. Line the rim of the glass ornament with hot glue, then carefully put the metal cap back on before the glue dries
  8. Cut a few leaves or flowers from your assortment that you like and hot glue them near the cap of the ornament
  9. Cut a piece of ribbon and loop it through the hook in the cap of the ornament to create something for it to hang on
  10. Enjoy your holiday ornament!
